About the Project
The Oasis Youth Support Network in Sydney is The Salvation Army's response to youth homelessness in Australia. Oasis provides a holistic support service for homeless and disadvantaged young people between 16 and 24 years of age which includes their creative initiative network, the Streetmedia Centre.
Providing young people with a positive outlet for self-expression through a variety of creative workshops including film, photography, digital design, dance, jewellery making and art therapy, Oasis are calling on the charitable hearts of bubble artists to dig deep this Christmas and create a piece of art for the Streetmedia walls. No artwork is too big, small, straightforward or complex for this challenge. Four winning artworks will be printed onto canvas and displayed permanently within the Streetmedia Centre to inspire their community on a daily basis.
To enter, create an artwork that best reflects the mission statement of Oasis:
"'The Oasis Youth Support Network provides a place of safety and care where, through compassion and skilful intervention, troubled young people find refuge and hope to achieve dreams and potential"
Prizes up for grabs
- This challenge is a little different in that there is no physical prize for our winning artists. More so the opportunity to volunteer your talent to a charity, where you can make the difference in the life of another young person through your artwork. Food-for-the-soul goodness.
- All artworks submitted will feature as on General Pants Co and Oasis’ online channels.
