What is Major Label?

Major Label is a pioneering new singles record label owned entirely by General Pants Co. and aimed at discovering unsigned Australian acts. The label stays away from controlling artist creativity, doesn't own their copyright and pays out to the acts 100% of royalties generated from the online sales of the singles.

The concept behind Major Label is for the General Pants Co. staff to act as talent scouts, street teams and publicists for the label and its artists. Bands are to submit their single and create a profile on the bubble in the Major Label category to be considered for signing. Every two months one act will be chosen and their single released through Major Label. The singles will be available for streaming right here and available to purchase through selected online retailers.
