Since its inception in 2008, the bubble originated as a creative industries mentoring program for the young, the rebellious and the restless. Within three years, General Pants Co. has unearthed and exposed over 4,000 artworks from over 2,500 local and international talented artists.
Our discoveries ain’t just stories of sheer delight made pretty for a refrigerator’s front door. Many artists have gone on to fruitful careers and beyond (our new Art Director is an original bubble affiliate, true story) and many designs have been proudly used in some of GP Co’s own in-store and marketing collateral.

We’ve tweaked a few things, stepped up to the plate and modified our online superhighway hub to bring you a new and improved bubble community.
Here are the changes you need to live and breathe:
- There are eight challenges within our updated creative categories: Major Label, TV/Film, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Photography, Art & Illustration, Creative Writing and Blogging/Styling.
- We’ll be partnering with top Australian brands and challenging each category on an ongoing rotational basis.
- The idea is to have our artistic prodigies (that’s you guys) expose your talents to credible and incredible companies that can offer a commercial platform for your work. We’re simply here to connect the dots in your career destiny.
- Another change is the addition of our singles-only record label, Major Label.
- Artists can now apply to be the next Major Label act through the bubble, where we will be providing a 2-month artist package. The idea is to provide a natural progression plan for our signed bands and have you involved in photo shoots, have bubble artists design your band’s artwork, and perform at a GP shindig or two.
Most importantly, we recognise the talent you lot have bursting out of your raw and ready fingertips. It would be criminal not to evolve. So come join us.
